Championship Format: 18 Holes, Stroke Play, Gross and Net scoring. Pinehurst Format: Each player will hit a tee shot, then switch and hit his/her partners ball for their second shots. After the second shots are played, one ball is selected to be played alternately through the hole. The ball which is not selected is removed from play. One score per team, per hole is counted. Handicap Allocation: Team handicap is calculated by adding 60% of the lower Handicap Index to 40% of the higher Handicap Index. Senior flight included for teams of players 55 years of age and over.

Entry Fee: $150.00 Per Team (includes lunch).

Entries Close: Thursday, May 20 at 5:00 p.m.

Transportation: Players will be required to rent a power cart at an additional cost (TBA). Players will NOT be permitted to walk and carry their own bags.

Senior Flight Eligibility: Teams comprised of players 55 years of age (or older) on June 3, 2010 will automatically be placed in this additional flight.

Trophy: NEW JERSEY STATE GOLF ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY will be awarded to the Champions and displayed at their club for the ensuing year.

Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the Low 3 Gross and Net Scoring teams (overall) and Low Gross and Low Net in Senior Flight.


Formation of Teams & Eligibility Requirements

Teams are formed by combining one male amateur and one female amateur from the SAME club, public or private, which is in good standing with the NJSGA who meet ALL of the following regulations*:

   a) Amateurs must possess UNQUESTIONABLE Amateur Status as per USGA Standards.
   b) Team members must meet ALL of these Handicap and Membership Requirements:
       1. Male amateur must have an active and valid USGA Handicap Index of 20.0 or less and female amateur must have an active USGA Handicap Index of 25.0 or less as of the May 12, 2010 Handicap revision.
       2. Both Handicaps must be through the SAME NJSGA member facility (public or private) where they are BOTH members in good standing. (Golfers that do not hold an active and valid Handicap Index through a NJSGA member facility are not eligible.)
       3. Entrants MUST be in good standing AND appear on the Official Handicap Roster at the Club/Course to which they are affiliated at the TIME OF ENTRY. Team members must maintain their good standing and remain on the Official Handicap Roster (possess an active and valid USGA Handicap) at the same NJSGA member club/course through the Championship proper.  
   c) If any team member(s) enter a NJSGA Championship from a public facility or a Club Without Real Estate, he/she MUST be a permanent resident of New Jersey.
   d) A competitor may only enter NJSGA events from ONE CLUB/COURSE in a calendar year. The club/course from which a competitor enters his first event of the calendar year is designated his club/course for that year. (Please be mindful of this condition when participating in a team event.) 

THOSE WHO DO NOT MEET ALL OF THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS COMPETITION.

REFUND POLICY: NO REFUND SHALL BE ISSUED AFTER THE CLOSE OF ENTRIES except in the case of illness or injury as accompanied by a physician´s notice. In this case, entry fee will be refunded minus a $50.00 surcharge. If a team withdraws prior to the close of entries (regardless of reason), entry fee will be refunded minus a $50.00 surcharge. If a team does not gain entry into an event due to oversubscription, they will be refunded in full. No refunds shall be issued for any reason after the tournament start date. All requests for a refund must be initiated via telephone by contacting the NJSGA Tournament Department at 908-241-4653. ALL REFUNDS SHALL BE ISSUED VIA CHECK.

FINAL DECISION REGARDING ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE NJSGA. THE NJSGA RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT OR WITHDRAW AN ENTRY AT ANY TIME, BEFORE OR DURING A COMPETITION.
