88th Father and Son Championship

Royce Brook Golf Club (West), Hillsborough, NJ
Championship Format: 18 Holes, Stroke Play- Gross and Net Scoring. Selected Drive, alterate shot format. The team Handicap is calculated by taking 40% of the father’s plus 40% of the son’s course handicap and combining the two to create a Team Handicap. All ties will be broken according to the USGA Method for Matching of Cards.
Entry Fee: $125.00 Per Team (includes lunch)
Entries Close: Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.
Transportation: Players will be required to rent motorized carts at an additional cost (TBA). Players will NOT be permitted to walk and carry their own bags.
Trophy: The Charles H. Smith Championship trophy will be awarded to the team with the lowest gross score.
Prizes: To Be Announced.

Team Formation & Championship Eligibility Requirements
Teams are formed by two male amateur players who are father and son that are members of any NJSGA member club or course, public or private. Players need NOT be members of the same facility but BOTH must be members of a NJSGA club/course.
Entries open to teams of male amateur golfers who meet ALL of these requirements:
a) Both players must possess UNQUESTIONABLE Amateur Status, as per USGA standards.
b) Both players must meet ALL of these Handicap and Membership Requirements:
1. Both entrants must possess an ACTIVE and VALID USGA Handicap as of the JUNE 23, 2010 Handicap Revision through a NJSGA Member club or course (public or private) which is in good standing with the NJSGA. (Golfers that do not hold an active and valid Handicap Index through a NJSGA member facility are not eligible.)
2. Both entrants MUST be in good standing AND appear on the Official Handicap Roster at the Club/Course to which each is affiliated at the TIME OF ENTRY. Both entrants must maintain their good standing and remain on the Official Handicap Roster (possess an active and valid USGA Handicap) at his member club/course through the Championship proper.
c) If Amateur enters a NJSGA Championship from a public facility or a Club Without Real Estate, he MUST be a permanent resident of New Jersey.
d) A competitor may only enter NJSGA events from ONE CLUB/COURSE in a calendar year. The club/course from which a competitor enters his first event of the calendar year is designated his club/course for that year. (Please be mindful of this condition if you plan to participate in a team event.)
THOSE WHO DO NOT MEET ALL OF THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS COMPETITION.
REFUND POLICY: NO REFUND SHALL BE ISSUED AFTER THE CLOSE OF ENTRIES except in the case of illness or injury as accompanied by a physician´s notice. In this case, entry fee will be refunded minus a $50.00 surcharge. If a player withdraws prior to the close of entries (regardless of reason), entry fee will be refunded minus a $50.00 surcharge. If a player does not gain entry into an event due to oversubscription, he will be refunded in full. No refunds shall be issued for any reason after the tournament start date. All requests for a refund must be initiated via telephone by contacting the NJSGA Tournament Department at 908-241-4653. ALL REFUNDS SHALL BE ISSUED VIA CHECK.
FINAL DECISION REGARDING ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE NJSGA. THE NJSGA RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT OR WITHDRAW AN ENTRY AT ANY TIME, BEFORE OR DURING A COMPETITION.
