89th NJSGA/William Y. Dear Junior Championship
(AGES 16 & 17*)
Monday - Wednesday, July 26-28, 2010

NOTICE: Registrant MUST be a valid credit card holder and 18 years of age (or older) to register a minor for this Championship. DO NOT PROCEED to registration unless you are 18 years of age or older.

JUNIOR Championship Information:
The JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP at Rockaway River Country Club will consist of golfers ages 16 and 17*. An eighteen (18) hole, stroke play qualifying round will be held on Monday, July 26. The low 16 scorers will advance to two days (four rounds) of match play on Tuesday, July 27 and Wednesday, July 28 (two rounds of match play will be contested each day). All matches are 18 holes. The total field in the Junior & Boys Championships will be limited to the first 160 players whose entries are received by the NJSGA prior to the close of entries on Wednesday, July 14 at 5:00 p.m. The defending champion is exempt from qualifying and will be placed into the match play championship as the #1 seed (assuming all eligibility requirements are met).

*-ENTRANT MUST NOT HAVE REACHED HIS 18th BIRTHDAY AS OF JULY 28, 2010.
** Boys 15 years of age or under may compete ´up´ in the Junior Division provided they announce their intent prior to the Monday qualifying round. **

CADDIES ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THIS CHAMPIONSHIP.

ALL PLAYERS MUST WALK AND CARRY THEIR OWN BAGS.

SPECTATORS MUST REMAIN CLEAR OF PLAY AT ALL TIMES; SPECTATOR CARTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED.

Starting Times will be determined by the NJSGA and forwarded to all players in advance. Players may consult the NJSGA website: www.njsga.org 6-7 days in advance for pairings and all pertinent tournament information.

Entry Fee: $75.00 (includes Monday´s lunch).     

Entries Close: Wednesday, July 14 at 5:00 p.m.     

Eligibility Requirements: 

Entries open to male amateur golfers who meet ALL of these requirements:
   a) Amateur must possess UNQUESTIONABLE Amateur Status, as per USGA standards.
   b) Entrant must not have reached his 18th birthday on or before Wednesday, July 28, 2010.
   c) Amateur must meet ALL of these Handicap and Membership Requirements:
        1. Entrant MUST possess an ACTIVE and VALID USGA Handicap Index of 15.0 or less, as of the JULY 7, 2010 Handicap Revision.
        2. This Handicap Index must be through a NJSGA Member club or course (public or private) which is in good standing with the NJSGA. (Golfers that do not hold an active and valid Handicap Index through a NJSGA member facility are not eligible.)
        3. Entrant MUST be in good standing AND appear on the Official Handicap Roster at the Club/Course to which he is affiliated at the TIME OF ENTRY. Entrant must maintain his good standing and remain on the Official Handicap Roster (possess an active and valid USGA Handicap) at his member club/course through the Championship proper. 
   d) If Amateur enters a NJSGA Championship from a public facility or a Club Without Real Estate, he MUST be a permanent resident of New Jersey.
   e) A competitor may only enter NJSGA events from ONE CLUB/COURSE in a calendar year. The club/course from which a competitor enters his first event of the calendar year is designated his club/course for that year. (Please be mindful of this condition if you plan to participate in a team event.) 

THOSE WHO DO NOT MEET ALL OF THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS COMPETITION.

FINAL DECISION REGARDING ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE NJSGA. PRIOR TO SUBMITTING THIS ENTRY, PLEASE READ ALL RULES, CONDITIONS, AND GUIDELINES WHICH FOLLOW IN THE REGISTRATION PROCESS.

REFUND POLICY: NO REFUND SHALL BE ISSUED AFTER THE CLOSE OF ENTRIES except in the case of illness or injury as accompanied by a physician´s notice. In this case, entry fee will be refunded minus a $50.00 surcharge. If a player withdraws prior to the close of entries (regardless of reason), entry fee will be refunded minus a $50.00 surcharge. If a player does not gain entry into an event due to oversubscription, he will be refunded in full. No refunds shall be issued for any reason after the tournament start date. All requests for a refund must be initiated via telephone by contacting the NJSGA Tournament Department at 908-241-4653. ALL REFUNDS SHALL BE ISSUED VIA CHECK.
