85th NJSGA Women’s Amateur Championship
Monday - Thursday, August 2-5, 2010

Championship / Qualifying Format: An eighteen (18) hole, stroke play qualifying round will be held on Monday, August 2 to determine placement into match play flights. The Championship Flight will consist of 16 players (including the defending Champion, plus the 15 lowest gross scorers from Monday’s qualifying round). The next sixteen (16) lowest gross scorers will constitute the First Flight. If the size of field permits, additional 16 player flights will be created based upon qualifying round scores (second flight, third flight, etc.). Players will be seeded according to score. Any ties for the final qualifying place(s) in any flight shall be decided by a hole-by-hole playoff which will begin immediately upon the completion of Monday’s qualifying round.
The first and second rounds of match play in each flight will be held on Tuesday, August 3. The semifinal matches will be held on Wednesday, August 4; the Championship matches will be held on Thursday, August 5. The rain date is Friday, August 6. All matches are eighteen (18) holes EXCEPT for the Championship Flight final match which will be 36 holes.
Motorized transportation is PROHIBITED throughout this Championship. Pull carts are also PROHIBITED.
CADDIE NOTICE: North Jersey will have Caddies available but players MUST reserve them in advance. Further details will be announced and posted in advance of the Championship.
PLEASE NOTE: Should a player advance to match play but intend to ONLY participate in the Championship Flight, she MUST notify the Tournament Chairperson when she returns her scorecard upon completing her qualifying round on Monday, August 2.
Entry Fee: $125.00 (includes Monday’s lunch)
Entries Close: Wednesday, July 21 at 5:00 p.m.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Entrants who do not satisfy all of these conditions are not eligible to participate in this Championship.
Entries open to female amateur golfers who meet ALL of these requirements:
a) Amateur must possess UNQUESTIONABLE Amateur Status, as per USGA standards.
b) Amateur must meet ALL of these Handicap and Membership Requirements:
1. Entrant MUST possess an ACTIVE and VALID USGA Handicap Index of 14.0 or less, as of the JULY 21, 2010 Handicap Revision.
2. This Handicap Index must be through a NJSGA Member club or course (public or private) which is in good standing with the NJSGA. (Golfers that do not hold an active and valid Handicap Index through a NJSGA member facility are not eligible.)
3. Entrant MUST be in good standing AND appear on the Official Handicap Roster at the Club/Course to which she is affiliated at the TIME OF ENTRY. Entrant must maintain her good standing and remain on the Official Handicap Roster (possess an active and valid USGA Handicap) at her member club/course through the Championship proper.
c) If Amateur enters a NJSGA Championship from a public facility or a Club Without Real Estate, she MUST be a permanent resident of New Jersey.
d) A competitor may only enter NJSGA events from ONE CLUB/COURSE in a calendar year. The club/course from which a competitor enters his first event of the calendar year is designated her club/course for that year. (Please be mindful of this condition if you plan to participate in a team event.)
THOSE WHO DO NOT MEET ALL OF THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS COMPETITION.
REFUND POLICY: NO REFUND SHALL BE ISSUED AFTER THE CLOSE OF ENTRIES except in the case of illness or injury as accompanied by a physician´s notice. In this case, entry fee will be refunded minus a $50.00 surcharge. If a player withdraws prior to the close of entries (regardless of reason), entry fee will be refunded minus a $50.00 surcharge. If a player does not gain entry into an event due to oversubscription, she will be refunded in full. No refunds shall be issued for any reason after the tournament start date. All requests for a refund must be initiated via telephone by contacting the NJSGA Tournament Department at 908-241-4653. ALL REFUNDS SHALL BE ISSUED VIA CHECK.
FINAL DECISION REGARDING ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE NJSGA. THE NJSGA RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT OR WITHDRAW AN ENTRY AT ANY TIME, BEFORE OR DURING A COMPETITION.
