52nd NJSGA Senior & Pre-Senior Amateur Championships
August 2-3, 2010
Trump National Golf Club – Colts Neck, NJ

Championship Information: 36 Holes, Stroke Play; Gross and Net Scoring. Senior Championship contested for players 55 years of age and older (C.H. Smith Championship Trophy);  Pre-Senior Championship contested for players ages 50-54 (W.Y. Dear Championship Trophy). Super-Senior flight (within Senior Division) for players 65 of age and older. After Monday’s eighteen hole round, the field will be cut to the low 40 players over the two divisions; the number of players in each division to advance to Tuesday’s play will be posted on-site. This number will be proportionate to the total number of players in each division with respect to the total number of players in the entire Championship field. The Champion will be the player with the lowest 36 hole aggregate score. In the event of a tie for the Championship, a hole-by-hole playoff will begin immediately upon the completion of play. Entrants divided into three classes (see following) according to age:
Super-Senior: Ages 65 and up as of 8/2/10*
Senior: Ages 55-64 as of 8/2/10
Pre-Senior: Ages 50-54 as of 8/2/10

*- Note: The Super-Senior class competes within the Senior Division.

Handicap Limit: 10.0

Entry Fee: $150.00 (includes lunch)

Entries Close: Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.

Transportation / Caddie Arrangements: All players will be required to either employ a Caddie or rent a power cart (at a cost to be determined). No player will be permitted to walk and carry his own bag.

IMPORTANT - Determination of the Championship Field & Waiting List Information:
The Championship field on August 2 is limited to 156 players whose entries are received by the entry deadline of Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. If more than 156 entries are received, a waiting list will be created where all entered players are listed in ascending order according to Handicap Index as of the July 7, 2010 Revision. The 156 players with the lowest Handicap Indexes will be accepted into the Championship field; all others will be placed on a waiting list according to their Handicap Index. If a player is placed on the waiting list and a spot opens due to another player’s withdrawal, the wait-listed player must accept the withdrawn player’s starting time. Those that do not gain entry into the Championship as a result of oversubscription will receive a full refund of their entry fee.


Eligibility Requirements

Entries are open to male amateur golfers who meet all of these requirements:
1. If Amateur is entering the Pre-Senior Championship, he must be between the ages of 50 and 54 as of August 2, 2010, or
2. If Amateur is entering the Senior Championship, he must be 55 years of age or older as of August 2, 2010, and:
   a) Entrant must possess UNQUESTIONABLE Amateur Status, as per USGA standards.
   b) Amateur must meet ALL of these Handicap and Membership Requirements:
        1. Entrant MUST possess an ACTIVE and VALID USGA Handicap Index of 10.0 or less, as of the JULY 7, 2010 Handicap Revision.
        2. This Handicap Index must be through a NJSGA Member club or course (public or private) which is in good standing with the NJSGA. (Golfers that do not hold an active and valid Handicap Index through a NJSGA member facility are not eligible.)
        3. Entrant MUST be in good standing AND appear on the Official Handicap Roster at the Club/Course to which he is affiliated at the TIME OF ENTRY. Entrant must maintain his good standing and remain on the Official Handicap Roster (possess an active and valid USGA Handicap) at his member club/course through the Championship proper.
   c) If Amateur enters a NJSGA Championship from a public facility or a Club Without Real Estate, he MUST be a permanent resident of New Jersey.
   d) A competitor may only enter NJSGA events from ONE CLUB/COURSE in a calendar year. The club/course from which a competitor enters his first event of the calendar year is designated his club/course for that year. (Please be mindful of this condition if you plan to participate in a team event.)

THOSE WHO DO NOT MEET ALL OF THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS COMPETITION.

REFUND POLICY: NO REFUND SHALL BE ISSUED AFTER THE CLOSE OF ENTRIES except in the case of illness or injury as accompanied by a physician´s notice. In this case, entry fee will be refunded minus a $50.00 surcharge. If a player withdraws prior to the close of entries (regardless of reason), entry fee will be refunded minus a $50.00 surcharge. If a player does not gain entry into an event due to oversubscription, he will be refunded in full. No refunds shall be issued for any reason after the tournament start date. All requests for a refund must be initiated via telephone by contacting the NJSGA Tournament Department at 908-241-4653. ALL REFUNDS SHALL BE ISSUED VIA CHECK.

FINAL DECISION REGARDING ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE NJSGA. THE NJSGA RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT OR WITHDRAW AN ENTRY AT ANY TIME, BEFORE OR DURING A COMPETITION.
