AUGUST CADDIE SCHOLAR OF THE MONTH: PAUL BABIAK

Hometown:    Rumson
Caddies at:  Rumson Country Club
College:     University of Notre Dame
Class:       2013
Major:       Undecided; possibly Accounting

Paul Babiak is very excited to be entering his sophomore year at the University of Notre Dame later this month. While he is not positive what he wants to study, Paul is currently leaning towards majoring in Accounting at the Mendoza College of Business. When not in class or studying, he likes to take advantage of all the activities happening on campus, like musical performances, comedy sketches, and guest speakers. He especially likes to compete in Notre Dame’s dorm sports. As a resident of Stanford Hall, Paul plays on their full-pad football team, lacrosse, and basketball teams. He is also active in a tutoring program through Notre Dame, in which he visits a community center twice a week to tutor local high school students. He lives in Rumson where he was a 2009 graduate of Rumson Fair Haven Regional High School. While at RFH, he was a starter on both the football and lacrosse teams.

This summer, Paul has been caddieing and working in the bag room at Rumson Country Club. This is his fifth and possibly last summer as a full-time caddie, as he will try to get an accounting internship next summer. What Paul enjoys most about working at Rumson is being outdoors and having fun with the members and other caddies.

Paul would like to personally thank all the contributors to the NJSGA Caddie Scholarship. Without the generosity of others, he would not be able to enjoy the quality education he is receiving, and for this he not only thanks everyone for their kindness but also for their continued support and interest in their caddies’ educations. He knows that this scholarship tremendously helps caddies afford college and that even more caddies will appreciate this kind of financial generosity in years to come.
