Navesink’s William Charpek paces field in NJSGA Mid-Amateur Qualifying Round

William Charpek of the Navesink Country Club today shot an even-par 72 to lead the field in the first of two qualifying rounds for the 22^nd NJSGA Mid-Amateur Championship at the Peddie Golf Club in Hightstown. Charpek shot a 36-36 to edge Robert Wolf of Hollywood, who shot a one-over par 73 at the par 72, 6300 yard Peddie Golf Club.

A total of fifteen (15) golfers advanced from today’s qualifying round; an additional sixteen (16) qualifiers will be determined next Monday, April 25 at the Raritan Valley Country Club in Bridgewater. These 31, in addition to defending Champion Barry Wiseman of Royce Brook, will advance to match play in the 22^nd Mid-Amateur Championship May 3 – 5 at the Somerset Hills Country Club in Bernardsville.
