In quarterfinal action earlier today in the 22nd New Jersey State Golf Association Mid-Amateur Championship, Tom Gramigna of Tavistock Country Club secured his place in tomorrow’s final four action by defeating Gregg Angelillo of Montclair Golf Club, 1-up, at the 6659 yard, par-71 Somerset Hills Country Club in Bernardsville.
Gramigna, the 2002 and 2003 Mid-Amateur Champion, will aim
tomorrow to become only the second golfer to win the Gigi Carnevale Trophy a
total of three times, as he will face John Peterson of Deal in the first of two
semi-final matches at 8:00 a.m. The second semi-final match will pit Bobby
Erianne of Passaic County Golf Course, who defeated William Charpek of Navesink
Country Club 2 & 1, against Jamie Slonis- also of Tavistock Country Club-
who defeated fellow Tavistock member William McGuinness, 2 & 1. The
