The Fairmount Country Club team of Head Professional Mark Giuliano, and members Gene Tracey, Gene Duffy, and Frank Russo today shot a combined thirteen under par 59 (29-30) to capture the 13th NJSGA Challenge Cup at Fairmount Country Club in Chatham. The corporate team of Dwyer, Connell, and Lisbona finished second on a match of cards, over the Metuchen Golf and Country Club team- each shooting a 61.

 

In the Professionals’ competition, Andy Brock of Metuchen G. & C.C. shot a six-under par 66 (35-31) to best Mark Schaare of Knob Hill G.C. who shot a three-under par 69.

 

The Challenge Cup Pro-Am is an annual charitable tournament conducted by the New Jersey State Golf Association to benefit the NJSGA Youth Foundation which precedes the NJSGA/Lincoln-Mercury Open Championship. The Open Championship itself will be held at the Fairmount Country Club in Chatham tomorrow through Thursday, July 14.
