Chris Sylvia of the Golfing Club of Southern Jersey took medalist honors today, shooting a three-under par 69, at the par 72, 6600 yard Mays Landing Golf and Country Club in Mays Landing. Sylvia (35-34-69), bested a field of 8 qualifiers that will advance to the 104th New Jersey State Golf Association Amateur Championship at the Mountain Ridge Country Club in West Caldwell June 6-8. Ryan McCarty of Little Mill Country Club placed second, shooting an even-par 72.

Three additional qualifying sites will follow to complete the field at Mountain Ridge; next Monday, May 16 at White Beeches in Haworth, next Thursday, May 19 at Oak Hill in Milford, and Wednesday, May 25 at Mercer Oaks (West) in West Windsor.
