In the third of four sectional qualifying rounds for the 104th New Jersey State Golf Association Amateur Championship today at the Oak Hill Golf Club in Milford, Robert Hanington of Panther Valley Golf and Country Club shot a three-over par 75 (40-35) to lead 16 qualifiers to the Championship itself at the Mountain Ridge Country Club June 6-8. Hanington’s medalist effort included three birdies on the 10th, 11th, and 16th holes, highlighting his afternoon at the par 72, 6700 yard Oak Hill Golf Club. Kyle Hartlaub of Canoe Brook Country Club placed second, shooting a 76 (36-40).

The 104th NJSGA Amateur Championship will be played at Mountain Ridge from June 6-8. Defending Champion Allan Small will look to retain the Edwin M. Wild Championship trophy, and will be joined by qualifiers from previously determined rounds at Mays Landing and White Beeches, plus today’s from Oak Hill. One qualifier remains, which is scheduled for Mercer Oaks (West) Golf Course in West Windsor next Wednesday, May 25. A number of exempt players have also advanced to the Championship via various criteria.
