In the second and final sectional qualifying round for the 73^rd New Jersey State Golf Association Four Ball Championship, the team of Mike Minter and Robert Whartenby of Trenton Country Club carded a seven under par 65 to claim medalist honors at the par 72, 6632 yard Mendham Golf and Tennis Club in Brookside. Frank Boensch and Louis Giovacchini (34-32) of Mercer Oaks tied in second place with Ervin Allaghi and Michael O’Connell (32-34) of North Jersey at six under par, shooting a 66.

A total of fifteen teams qualified for the Championship, which will be held next week- Monday-Wednesday at Trenton Country Club in West Trenton. This match play tournament also drew 17 teams from last week’s qualifying at Hawk Pointe; today’s qualifier completed the 32 team field. Defending Champions Craig Smith and Brad Mills of Fairmount will not defend their title.
