73^rd NJSGA Four Ball Championship

Quarterfinal Round Matches – Trenton Country Club, West Trenton, NJ

Trenton Country Club represented itself in terrific fashion once again today in the quarterfinal matches of the 73^rd New Jersey State Golf Association Four Ball Championship. The team of Michael Minter and Robert Whartenby along with the duo of Mike Moonan and Mike Reap each won their quarterfinal round matches 4 & 2 and 1-up respectively to earn the right to play each other in tomorrow morning’s semi-final round. These two Trenton teams will be joined by the North Jersey team of Ervin Allaghi and Michael O’Connell and the Howell Park team of Richard Lippert and Richard Slagle, who won their matches 2 & 1 and 5 & 4, respectively.

Tomorrow’s semi-final matches will begin at 7:30 a.m., with the Championship match scheduled for approximately 1:00 p.m. The following is a listing of results from today’s quarterfinal matches:

Michael Minter & Robert Whartenby, Trenton def. John Peterson & Derrick Scenna, Deal – 4 & 2.

Mike Moonan & Mike Reap, Trenton def. William Bello & Robert Manzo, Metedeconk National – 1-up.

Ervin Allaghi & Mike O’Connell, North Jersey def. Ed Alden & Gregg Cartier, High Bridge Hills – 2 & 1.

Richard Lippert & Richard Slagle, Howell Park def. Frank Boench & Louis Giovacchini, Mercer Oaks – 5 & 4.
