In the first of two qualifying rounds for the 73rd New Jersey State Golf Association Four Ball Championship, John Capra and Lou Keleher of Stanton Ridge, Anthony Marteri and William Voris of Seaview, and last week’s NJSGA/Lincoln-Mercury Open Champion Brian Komline teamed with Ian Kunesch to claim tri-medalist honors, as each team shot a four-under par 68 at the par 72, 6827 yard Hawk Pointe Golf Club in Washington. These three teams will lead a total of 17 qualifiers into the match play Championship at Trenton Country Club August 1 – 3.

The second of two qualifying rounds will be held next Monday, July 25, at the Mendham Golf and Tennis Club in Mendham, where an additional 15 qualifiers will complete the Championship field. Last year’s Champions, Craig Smith and Brad Mills of Fairmount, will not defend their title (Mills has turned Professional).
