Bill Henry Wins Super-senior Amateur Championship Second Year In A Row

Reigning champion Bill Henry performed some course magic today as he reclaimed his title at the 7th Super-Senior Amateur Championship. Henry shot a 72 yesterday and 78 today. Yesterday was only Henry’s second time playing at Glen Ridge Country Club, but his unfamiliarity with the course didn’t deter him.

Henry played with Stephen Boyd, who came in second place today. Henry said the match was close the entire time, up until the very last hole when he made a 3-foot putt for par. He birdied No. 10, which he called “a little scary” due to the water.

While he normally plays at Forsgate Country Club and Shackamaxon Country Club, Henry said he enjoyed this course and has always admired it.

Henry has been to many country clubs around the state, not just for golf. A full time magician known as Henry Carlyle, he travels around to country clubs performing and reading minds of his audience members. He can now add two-time champion to his resume of tricks!
