Monmouth County Opens Events To All New Jersey Golfers

.New Jersey golfers are encouraged to participate in a pair of statewide events conducted by the Monmouth County Park System, which is NOT requiring participants to have a Monmouth County Golf ID card, thus making the tournaments open to any golfer who has a USGA handicap.

.Here are two of interest:

Two Person Alternate Shot - This is a two-person alternate shot tournament, chapman format, May 24 at Hominy Hill Golf Course with a shotgun start at 8:00 am. Players must have a current USGA certified Ghin handicap. Prizes will be determined based on number of entries. The all-inclusive tournament registration fee of $195 includes power cart, range balls, prizes, greens fee, and lunch on patio following tournament.

Men’s Monmouth County Amateur - Open to all male golfers with a USGA certified GHIN handicap with a 12 or lower. The format is stroke play and prizes are award for gross score. The top 25 and ties qualifiers on day one proceed to the final round. Tournament registration fee of $80 includes range balls, greens fees, and prizes. Participants will be notified of starting tee time. The MC Amateur is being conducted May 20-21 over two days at each of the Charleston Springs courses.
