Hidden Creek G.C. Hosts Sold Out Member Golf Day

Hidden Creek Golf Club in Egg Harbor Township, which has been selected to host the 2015 U.S. Senior Amateur Championship, served as the backdrop for the NJSGA’s fifth Member Golf Day of 2013 on Monday, October 14.

A full field of 102 golfers made it the fourth MGD sellout in the five events the NJSGA has conducted.

The final Member Golf Day will be conducted on Monday, October 21, at beautiful Rockaway River Country Club in Denville. The deadline for registration is 5 p.m, Wednesday, October 16.

Four of the first five Member Golf Days have been sellouts. Tee time for Rockaway River is 10 a.m. The very reasonable cost of $125 includes green fee, cart, brunch, post-golf reception and prizes.

Rockaway River has hosted The Dodge Open, The New Jersey Open, The New Jersey Seniors, The Metropolitan Junior, The New Jersey Four Ball, as well as the women’s Interclub Matches and many qualifying rounds for state and metropolitan championships.

HIDDEN CREEK MGD RESULTS

FROM THE RRCC WEBSITE:

Of moderate length- 6,334 yards par 72, rating: 70.6 (slope: 123) it is an easy walking course with but one climb at the 10th where there is a comfortable half-way house and a magnificent view down the Rockaway River, by itself well worth the break.

The front nine on the east bank of the river demands good length: the back nine on the west bank is slightly shorter and demands accuracy. Truly, the course is “tough for the tigers, easy for the rabbits”, challenging for the low handicapper, pleasurable for the average player.

Hidden Creek has been recognized as one of the nation’s best private courses since opening in 2002. Hidden Creek has been ranked among Golfweek’s U.S. Top 100 Private Modern Courses for 10 consecutive years. In 2012, the Club was selected by Golf Range Association of America as a Top-50 Private Practice Facility.

“Hidden Creek was a great venue for our fifth Member golf Day,” said Rich Kennedy, NJSGA Director of Handicapping and Member Services. “It was a challenging course and it was played on a beautiful day. As a complete sellout, we noticed many repeat golfers and many new faces who we hope will continue to play in our MGD events in the future.”

Next year’s Member Golf Day schedule will be released in February, 2014.
