Three golfers shot under 80 in Sunday's final round (April 24) to lift the Seton Hall University women's golf team to its third straight BIG EAST Conference championship at Callawassie islnd (S.C.) Golf Club..

Seton Hall shot a 26-over-par, 314, five shots better than its closest opponent, Georgetown. Midway through the round, the Hoyas erased the Pirates' seven-shot lead entering the day and took a slim lead. The Hall however, bounced back late and eventually won the tournament by 12 strokes over Georgetown. Xavier was third at 320, followed by Butler (326), St. John's (329) and Creighton (329).

Senior Karlie Zabrosky (Erie, Pa.) finished the tournament with a 15-over-par, 76-78-77-236, to tie for fourth among all individual golfers. She finished tied with teammate Cassie Pantelas (Canton, Ohio). Pantelas also- finished strong for The Hall with a 6-over-par, 78. For the tournament, she shot a 15-over-par, 80-73-78-231. Xavier's Shane Crutchfield won the individual title at 6-over-par.

Senior Megan Tehundfeld (Erie, Pa.) shot the third Pirates' score under 80 on Sunday. She fired a 6-over-par, 78, to finish ninth overall. For the three-day event, she tallied a 20-over-par, 81-77-78-236.

Senior McKenzie Cutter (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) finished just one stroke behind Tenhunfeld with a 21-over-par, 81-75-81-237. Sophomore

Macky Fouse (Aliquippa, Pa.) finished with a 44-over-par, 91-84-85-260.

The Pirates third title is certainly the most improbable. Entering the three-round event on Friday, Seton Hall was the fourth-ranked team in the field of six based on the GolfStat rankings.
