Baltusrol Pro Alex Beach Qualifies For PGA Championship

Alex Beach, an Assistant PGA Professional at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, New Jersey, qualified for his first major championship, the 2017 PGA Championship, at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, August 10-13.

Beach qualified for the PGA Championship after finishing inside the top 20 of the PGA Professional Championship, the premier event for PGA Professionals, at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Oregon, June 18-21.

The 27-year-old put together a final round 1-under 71 that included a birdie on the final hole to cement his spot in the PGA Championship. He finished 1-over for the tournament. Last year, Beach qualified for the PGA Professional Championship, but missed the cut.

To qualify for the PGA Professional Championship, Beach had to finish among the top 11 players in the New Jersey PGA Championship at Plainfield Country Club, Edison, New Jersey, September 13-15 last year. He won that event by two strokes.
