NJM To Become Presenting Sponsor Of 60th Senior Amateur Championship and NJSGA Corporate Partner

NJM, the leading workers’ compensation insurer in New Jersey for more than 70 years, currently provides coverage to more than 50 NJSGA member golf clubs throughout the state. Away from the course, NJM provides thousands of Garden State companies in all industries with workers’ comp and commercial auto coverage, which underscores its positon as one of the state’s major property casualty insurers .

In 2018, NJM has committed to become the NJSGA’s newest Corporate Partner and is poised to make an equally major impact on the state’s golf scene.

NJSGA will help NJM maintain its brand leadership position in New Jersey as one of the state’s oldest and most recognized corporate citizens by connecting NJM with its members and tournament participants, many of whom own and help run businesses of all shapes and sizes across the state. The NJSGA will also provide a wide range of networking and hospitality activities for NJM to develop new business prospects and strengthen relationships with existing clients.

NJM will become the first-ever presenting sponsor of the 60th Senior Amateur Championship, which will be played on Oct. 3-4 at Essex Fells Country Club, support business networking initiatives the NJSGA is developing with fellow corporate sponsor Provident Bank, and establish a major presence on the association’s website as presenting sponsor of Live Scoring for all NJSGA championships and events. The NJSGA will conduct 26 championships and six USGA qualifying events in 2018.

“The NJSGA was created in 1900 to promote and preserve the traditions of the game of golf across the state. We share a similar commitment to tradition, service and reliability that NJM has built its business on”, said Kevin Purcell, Executive Director of the NJSGA, “Those shared values are just a perfect fit with NJM. The company is excited to use golf as a new marketing platform and the partner programming we’ve developed for them will extend their great products and services to the business owners, corporate executives and member golf clubs, who are all part of the NJSGA community.”

One of NJM’s core values is to support the communities in which they are privileged to serve. NJM will honor that pledge by also supporting fundraising activities around the NJSGA Caddie Scholarship Foundation and the NJSGA Youth Foundation. In 2017, the CSF granted 150 scholarships to New Jersey caddies, while the Youth Foundation provided grants to more than a dozen junior golf and sports organizations across the state.

“NJM is thrilled to begin a partnership with The New Jersey State Golf Association, an organization that has been serving its members for nearly 120 years," said John Hardiman, NJM’s public affairs director. “The work it does in raising the profile of such a beloved pastime the world over is essential. We look forward to supporting that important mission.”

As the largest workers’ compensation insurer in the Garden State, NJM provides experienced, loss prevention specialists to help avoid and reduce workplace accidents and injuries.

NJM’s proven results in this area translate to savings and value. NJM operates in a mutual fashion for the exclusive benefit of policyholders, to whom it has returned dividends in each year since 1918.

NJM is also repeatedly recognized as among the best insurers nationally for customer and claims satisfaction by leading market research firms and consumer publications, the results of which are based entirely on customer feedback.

Working together, NJM and NJSGA are enhancing the way golfers experience the game and ensuring that golf in New Jersey continues to prosper on and off the course for years to come.
