Youth Foundation Pro-am  Offers Chance To Play State Open Championship Course

Play the course the finest golfers in New Jersey will play for the 97thState Open Championship. Come play a great layout under Open Championship conditions.

The 2017 New Jersey State Golf Association Youth Foundation Pro-Am takes place on Monday, July 10 at Metedeconk National Golf Club in Jackson. It will precede the 97th Open Championship which is being played the following three days at the same venue.

The Youth Foundation Pro-Am is a four-player team event and the format is Best Ball of Four, net scoring. Teams are formed of three amateurs and one professional. There is a team competition and individual Professionals´ competition.

The fee is $500 per amateur ($1,500 per team).

The New Jersey State Golf Association Youth Foundation supports deserving youth golf and sports-related programs throughout the State of New Jersey. This support is provided through grants, instructional clinics, and recognition through NJSGA publications and events.

“This is an opportunity for us to make an impact on various youth organizations throughout the state,” said NJSGA executive director Kevin Purcell. “This is our largest fund raiser of the year and we are extremely appreciative of the people who participate and thank them for their long-time support.

“It’s also an opportunity to renew old friendships. We are also thankful of the golf professionals who give of their time to make this a memorable day for the amateur participants,” he stated.
