Rockaway River C.C.

Course Description

There are two Rockaway Rivers in New Jersey – the river itself and the Country Club which bears its name.

The river meanders through northern Morris County from the highlands in Jefferson Township to Pine Brook, where it empties into the Passaic River, after having filled the Jersey City Reservoir at Boonton.

About mid-way, at Denville – twenty seven air miles from the George Washington Bridge – the river flows north through a gentle valley where, back in 1915, a group of sportsmen formed a golf club and built a nine-hole course.
