After a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Corporate Golf Challenge returned and welcomed 84 participants. All proceeds will support the two charitable arms of the NJSGA – the Caddie Scholarship Foundation and the Youth Foundation.

“Provident Bank and all the other organizations that are here are all about giving back,” expressed Provident Bank CEO Chris Martin. “It’s about building relationships and helping out those in need. It’s something that all of the companies here are looking forward to doing.”

Kearny Bank’s team of Jack Anastasi, Craig Montanaro, Jeff Apostolou and Craig Talerico won the championship, combining for 154 points in a four-person Stableford scoring format.

“It was a great day,” said Montanaro. “Thanks to Provident Bank for sponsoring such a great event. The scholarships for caddies is great and overall it’s a great cause.”

“Chris (Martin) sent me a personal letter, then called me and said, ‘you have to play!’ I’ve known Chris and Tony Labozzetta in the business for 20-30 years so it’s just great to be with the folks here in this event.”

In addition to the 18-hole competition at Canoe Brook, each team’s entry included a Bushnell Wingman GPS Speaker, a brunch before play, refreshments, a networking cocktail reception after play and awards program, courtesy of Provident Bank.

“This is the premiere event in the month of October. This course is great, the group is great, it’s a fantastic golf event in October,” Montanaro said of the Corporate Challenge.

In addition to Provident Bank, NJSGA partners NJM Insurance Group and Lincoln Motor Company were in attendance, providing giveaways to participants.
