WARREN, N.J. – Over 90 women gathered at Warrenbrook Golf Course for the 6th Annual Somerset County Women’s Tournament on Friday, September 24.

Marcy Rodriguez, with the help of Ken Fivek, Manager of Golf Operations for Somerset County has been conducting this tournament since 2015. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, last year’s event was canceled.

“I’m very proud to be apart of such a wonderful women’s event,” expressed Rodriguez. “Our attendance is almost always filled. I get a lot of help from our league members and everyone enjoys this event.”

The day included a shotgun start followed by an outdoor luncheon and awards ceremony that featured a slew of exciting raffle prizes for participants.

Cheryl Hart, of Heron Glen Golf Course shot a gross score of 11-over par 82 on Friday to win the overall championship.

“I want to thank Somerset County Golf because it was their original idea, and they are a terrific partner,” said Rodriguez. “The course superintendent, Tammy Stephens does fabulous job. Unfortunately, we had a deluge on Thursday, but considering how well it played, that’s a tribute to Tammy.”

Participants of the tournament brought in food donations for the Food Bank of Somerset County.
