Apply Now for NJSGA Caddie Scholarship Opportunities

KENILWORTH, N.J. – The deadline to apply for the New Jersey State Golf Association Caddie Scholarship for the 2023-2024 academic year has been extended into mid-November, 2022.

To be considered for a NJSGA Caddie Scholarship, students must meet the following:

  • Academic Record
  • Financial need
  • Qualities of Character and Leadership
  • Golf Club's financial support of the Program

About The NJSGA Caddie Scholarship Foundation
The NJSGA Caddie Scholarship Foundation has been a paramount piece of the NJSGA since 1947. As it enters its 75th year, the CSF provides financial assistance to deserving New Jersey club caddies pursuing higher education. Most notably, since its inception, the CSF has provided more than $16 million in college scholarship awards to nearly 3,100 caddies. For the 2022-23 academic year, the Foundation has provided 154 caddies with over $679,000 in scholarships. Caddie scholars are selected based on their academic performance, financial need, and length and quality of service as a caddie. NJSGA/Evans Scholarship
NJSGA Evans Scholarship recipients are awarded full tuition and housing scholarships, which are co-sponsored by the ESF and the NJSGA CSF. For the 2022-23 academic year, there are 17 NJSGA Evans Scholars enrolled in school. Applications closed on October 15, 2022.

To be considered for a NJSGA/Evans Caddie Scholarship, students must meet the following:

  • Strong caddie record: Applicants must have caddied, regularly and successfully, for a minimum of two years and are expected to caddie at their sponsoring club the year they apply for the Scholarship.
  • Excellent academics: Applicants must have completed their junior year of high school with above a B average in college preparatory courses. The ACT and SAT will be optional for 2022 applicants.
  • Demonstrated financial need: Applicants must clearly have a need for financial assistance.
  • Outstanding character: Applicants must be outstanding in character, integrity and leadership.

About the Evans Scholars Foundation
Established by famed amateur golfer Charles “Chick” Evans Jr. and the Western Golf Association, the Evans Scholars Foundation provides full housing and tuition scholarships to high-achieving caddies across the country. Currently, 1,070 caddies are enrolled in 21 universities across the nation as Evans Scholars. The Program, which is supported by the Western Golf Association, is funded by contributions from more than 33,500 Evans Scholars Par Club members, including Evans Scholars Alumni, as well as proceeds from the BMW Championship. MGA Jay Mottola Scholarship
The MGA Foundation (MGAF) offers the Jay Mottola Scholarship, a significant college scholarship offered to outstanding students who have caddied and/or worked in service to golf in Westchester/CT, Long Island, and New Jersey.  The deadline to apply is November 15th.  To learn more, visit https://www.mgagolf.org/foundation/JMS
