“Fairways and greens,” Barron credited to the impressive 64. “We both had birdie putts on just about every single hole.”

“We made a point of trying to both be in every hole,” reflected Brown. “If we could do manage to do that, we thought our chances were pretty good.”

Dave Zoni, of Pine Barrens Golf Club and Gregory Stephanides, of Howell Park Golf Course turned in a 5-under 66. The first-time four-ball partners combined for six birdies and one bogey.

"My goal was to get as many pars as I can and let him (Dave) shoot for birdies," reflected Stephanides. "That worked out for both of us."

The 90th Four-Ball Championship is set for May 16-18 at Deal Golf & Country Club.
