Cole, of Alpine Country Club collected seven pars and a birdie on No. 9. She also leads the way in the Super-Senior Division.

“My drives were working today,” said Cole following her round. “Staying in the fairway helped a lot. The course played great, I thought the course would be soggy after the rain, but it wasn’t a problem.”

Cole also credited her fellow competitors in her group to her success on Tuesday.

In the net division, Gina Louie carded a one-under 71, finishing three strokes ahead of Kathy Bartsche of Eagle Ridge Golf Club.

The conclusion of the 36-hole event will begin on Wednesday, September 29 at 8 a.m.
