AUGUSTA, Ga. – Megha Ganne, of Holmdel, New Jersey posted rounds of 73-70 in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur (ANWA) to tie for ninth, make the cut and will compete in Saturday’s final round at the prestigious Augusta National Golf Club, home of The Masters Tournament.

The 2018 New Jersey Girls’ Junior Champion, who is making her third appearance in the ANWA has punched her ticket into the final round for the first time. The first two rounds were contested at Champions Retreat, while only the top-30 players made the cut to Augusta National.

“Just a lot of changes and a lot of hard work,” Ganne said to media following her round. “I think this event and this golf course in the past few years exposed a lot of parts my game that I didn't know were weaknesses and forced me to look deep inside and see what I needed to change. I'm so happy I made the cut because I feel like this course has been a mental block for me for so long. It feels really good.”

Ganne’s second round was highlighted by six birdies.

“It was good thinking, good planning, and then the execution followed,” said of her solid round. “I think on this golf course you can execute shots really well, but if you don't plan it out it's pointless, so it just came together.”

All participants will play a practice round at Augusta National Golf Club on Friday, while the players who made the cut will compete in the final round on Saturday. NBC will broadcast three hours of live final-round coverage from noon – 3:00 p.m. ET on Saturday.

“It's just a lot more meaningful to play a competitive round there,” Ganne said of playing Augusta National. “It's what we all are fighting for. It just means a lot because I know how strong this field is, and to be in that top 30 is not easy. I'm really excited.”

The New Jersey native’s tee time for Saturday is set for 8:00 ET.

Ganne’s Stanford teammate and World No. 1 Rose Zhang leads the field by five strokes.
