Marino And Caufield Are Champions Of Champions

The NJSGA’s tournament season concluded on Wednesday, October 10th with the Tournament of Club Champions, an event sponsored by Bollinger Insurance that brings together for one day of friendly stroke play competition many of New Jersey’s club champs. The venue this year was Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, a fitting course to challenge the best of the best. Dan Marino of Due Process G.C. survived the challenge of Trump National and a three-way tie break to emerge as this year’s men’s champion, while Kamille Caufield of Forsgate survived a tie break to win the women’s division.

Marino, Jim Byer of Springdale, and Louis Giovi of Mercer Oaks all carded 74 on Trump National’s 6,850 yard par-72 layout. In a match of cards, Marino prevailed as champion while Giovi finished second and Byer third.

In the women’s division, Caufield and Helen Bernstein of Alpine each shot 82, with Caufield declared the champion in a match of cards.
