New Jersey Golf Duo Begins The DROP Podcast

KENILWORTH, N.J. – New Jersey’s newest golf podcast has hit the airwaves as Mike Puorro and Ryan Kulat kickstarted The DROP Podcast just a few months ago.

The duo has known each other for a while and have dabbled with the idea to produce a podcast revolving golf in New Jersey. Teachers by day, podcasters by night, Mike and Ryan took the leap of faith and now dive deep into everything New Jersey golf in their weekly series.

“There are other podcasts that do things nationally, on a broader scale. But to me, I thought about all the good golf courses there are in the state, both public and private and thought about all the amazing local professionals that we have here. Not only can we go experience, play and talk it, but now we can get our guys from inside the ropes and have them talk about it,” said Mike.

Golf in the Garden State is so unique and Mike and Ryan are eager to demonstrate its diverse territory.

“You can go up northwest and get a mountain view that is heavily wooded, it might even have big rocks, boulders, mountains. You can also go down to South Jersey and hit a golf course like Twisted Dune that has sand dunes,” explained Ryan. “There’s not one thing that screams this is New Jersey golf. There’s a wide variety and that's unique for such a for a state that's so small and it plays on who we are as New Jerseyans.”

From golf courses, to golf professionals, golf history, and NJSGA schedule talk Mike and Ryan’s content covers a plethora of New Jersey golf topics.

Their newest episode, which dropped on January 18, 2023 features their biggest star yet, 2019 New Jersey Open Champion and PGA Tour hopeful Chris Gotterup. Click here to listen to the episode.
