NJSGA Championship schedule begins on June 22; Important changes to Open and Amateur Championships

June 5, 2020 - After a two month delay, NJSGA Championship season will begin on Monday, June 22 with the first of four qualifying rounds for the 100th Open Championship at Preakness Hills Country Club.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, NJSGA events will be conducted with smaller field sizes and many protocols in place. A complete list of policies and procedures is available by clicking here. There have been various changes to both the Open and Amateur Championships, as follows:

100th Open Championship

Knickerbocker C.C – Monday-Wednesday, July 20-22

 

Qualifying Rounds:

Monday, June 22 – Preakness Hills C.C.; Tuesday, June 23 – Navesink C.C.; Tuesday, June 30 – Shackamaxon C.C.; Wednesday, July 1 – Little Mill C.C.

 

Entries close on Wednesday, June 10 at 5:00 p.m. Click here to enter.

 

Each qualifying site is limited to 96 players. Entries accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. A waiting list at each qualifying site will be created if/when entries exceed 96. Players on the waiting list will be added into the field in the order by which they entered.

 

The championship at Knickerbocker is limited to 90 players which includes those exempt from qualifying and those who advance through one of the four qualifying rounds. In the qualifying rounds, those who tie for the final qualifying position will advance to the championship.

 

Caddies are permitted, but must carry a player's bag. Spectators are prohibited. Pull/push carts will be permitted at most qualifying site, see specific Notice to Players.

Arcola C.C. – Monday-Wednesday, August 3-5

 

Qualifying Rounds:

Thursday, June 25 – Burlington C.C.; Tuesday, July 7 – NJ National G.C.; Thursday, July 9 – Lake Mohawk G.C.; Saturday, July 11 – Quail Brook G.C.

 

Entries for the Burlington C.C. qualifier close on June 18. Entries for the NJ National, Lake Mohawk, and Quail Brook qualifiers close on June 24. Click here to enter.

 

Each qualifying site is limited to 96 players (except Quail Brook which is limited to 78). Entries accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. A waiting list at each qualifying site will be created if/when entries exceed the maximum. Players on the waiting list will be added into the field in the order by which they entered.
