Pridgen Leads NJPGA/NJSGA Senior Open Heading into Final Round

UNION, N.J. – Ken Pridgen, head golf professional at Concordia Golf Club fired a 3-under par 68 on Tuesday afternoon at Suburban Golf Club to lead after the first round of the NJPGA/NJSGA Senior Open.

“I just feel comfortable at Suburban,” said Pridgen. “It usually sets up well for me. I had some success there in the past. As far as tomorrow, I am not planning on changing anything. We will see if that works. There are a lot of very good players in the field."

Pridgen compiled four birdies and just one bogey on Tuesday. 

Casey O’Reilly of Haworth Country Club and Lou Kubisa of Knob Hill Golf Club trail Pridgen closely, recording a pair of 2-under par 69s. 40 players and ties earned a spot in the final round as scores of 5-over or better advanced. 

Mark McCormick, head golf professional at the host club, Suburban, shot an even par 71. He will tee off at 10:16 a.m.
