Overall, the low 12 teams and ties from Monday’s qualifier have advanced to the championship, which is set to be played at Deal Golf & Country Club from May 16-18.

The tandems of Gregg Angelillo, of Baltusrol Golf Club and Brandon Dalinka, of The Ridge at Back Brook, Matthew Carlson, of Ramsey Golf & CC and Drake Ferriter, NJSGA E-Club, and Andrew Trask, of Watchung Valley Golf Club and Fraser Graham, of the Bedens Brook Club carded the low rounds of the day.

"We definitely partnered well today. When somebody was out of the hole, the other person was clearly in the hole," explained Angelillo. "What really helped us down the stretch was when we were getting two people in play. On holes 7 through 18 we had two players in play, on greens and then having birdie chances all the way through the end of the round. That was a big help. It takes a lot of pressure off of you when both of you are in the hole.”

Angelillo and Dalinka notched four birdies and just one blemish on their scorecard. The pair competed together last year at the 89th Four-Ball Championship. Carlson and Ferriter carded a pair of birdies on both sides, and their only bogey came on hole No. 14. Trask and Graham tallied three bogeys, but bounced back with six birdies in the afternoon.

Despite the chilly temperatures, four other duos in the field broke par on the 6,610-yard, par-72 course.

The next qualifier for the 90th Four-Ball Championship is set for Thursday, April 28 at Mountain View Golf Course. Pairings and starting times can be found here.
