The NJSGA’s “Wednesday Roundup” will run weekly through the 2022 golf season. This weekly news summary will feature local stories and news from throughout #thestateofgolf.   • Chris Gotterup of Little Silver finished t-35th at the Travelers Championship this past week. Gotterup will head to Illinois to compete in the John Deere Classic on his final sponsors exemption. He will tee off on Thursday alongside Bo Hoag and Jim Knoas at 2:11 p.m.  (Click for more)
  • Marina Alex of Wayne will team up with LPGA legend Karrie Webb at the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational, a team event at Midland Country Club from July 13-16. (Click for more)
  • After making the cut last week at the Traveler’s Championship in his final medical exemption, Morgan Hoffman will compete this week in the John Deere Classic, receiving an unrestricted sponsor exemption. (Click for more)
  • Reid Bedell, a native of Fair Haven was a finalist in the 2022 Florida State Amateur, eventually falling to Alex Vogelsong in 72 holes. (Click for more)
  • Katie Li (Basking Ridge) and Claire Lu (Edison) will be competing in the Polo Golf Junior Classic at Bethpage State Park Black Golf Course. (Click for more)
  • Li also finished in 3rd at the prestigious Rolex Girls Junior Championship at the Loxahatchee Club in Jupiter, Fla. (Click for more)
  • The ICON Series begins on June 30 at Liberty National Golf Club, which features a 10-hole team match-play tournament format between the world’s most iconic athletes across multiple sports. (Click for more)
  • 2020 New Jersey Open Champion Mark Costanza finished in 4th at the 67th IKE Championship. Thomas McCarthy of Essex County Country Club finished in 2nd.  (Click for more)
  • Registration is open for the Future Champions Tour, a tournament series for junior golfers provided by the Mercer County Golf Academy. Entries close July 1, 2022.
  • Registration is open for the Charity Challenge, set for Monday, August 29, 2022 at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster. It is a 10 a.m. shotgun with a four-man scramble followed by a post-reception in the Grand Ballroom. The event will build hope and a future for at-risk children in Santiago, Chile. (Click for more)
  • Tickets are now available for the 122nd U.S. Amateur at The Ridgewood Country Club and Arcola Country Club. (Click for more)
  • Volunteer opportunities are now available for the 122nd U.S. Amateur which include walking scorers, marshals/forecaddies, standard bearers, tee services, operations and caddie services. (Click for more)
  • The LPGA Leadership Academy is headed to New Jersey on July 13-14, 2022 for girls ages 13-18. The Academy, which will take place at USGA headquarters is aimed at girls who have some experience in golf and an interest in improving confidence, communication, decision making, team and leadership skills. (Click for more)
  • The MGA Foundation, in partnership with Met Area clubs, will work through GOLFWORKS, its flagship internship program, will aid Ukranian State-side refugees enrolled at American colleges and universities who do not have a home country to return to this summer. Ukranian students as well as clubs looking to participate in this program should contact foundation@mgagolf.org.
  • Entries for the 27th New Jersey Senior Four-Ball Championship closes on June 29th at 5 p.m. (Click to register)
