The NJSGA’s “Wednesday Roundup” will run weekly through the 2022 golf season. This weekly news summary will feature local stories and news from throughout #thestateofgolf.   • 2019 New Jersey State Open Champion Chris Gotterup medaled at the 122nd U.S. Open Championship Local Qualifying Round at Hollywood Golf Club, carding a 7-under 64 on Tuesday afternoon to advance to the Sectional Qualifying round. Stephen Shellock, Suneagles Golf Club professional put together a 3-under 68 to finish behind Gotterup and continue onto the final qualifying round for the U.S. Open. A pair of Seton Hall University competitors in Wanxi Sun and Deven Ramachandran shot a 2-under 69 and even par 71, respectively, to also earn a spot in the Sectional Qualifying. (Click for more)
  • Mark Costanza and Matthew Mattare finished in 3rd and 4th, respectively at the George L. Coleman Invitational at Seminole Golf Club in Juno Beach, Fla. (Click for more)
  • 2021 Mid-Amateur Champion Eric LeFante won the 2022 Eagle Oaks Invitational on April 28. LeFante (Click for more)
  • Ethan Lee of Christian Brothers Academy won the Shore Conference Tournament by a convincing eight strokes at Charleston Springs Golf Course. (Click for more)
  • Barnes Blake of Westfield High School shot a 2-under 69 to win the Union County Conference Tournament at Galloping Hill Golf Course. (Click for more)
  • Jack Tarzy of The Hun School won the Mercer County Conference Tournament, shooting a 1-under par 71 at. (Click for more)
  • Sammie Dolce of Morris Tech High School shot a 1-under 35 in the Morris County Tournament at Flanders Valley Golf Course. She broke the previous tournament record of 36, which she made last season. (Click for more)
  • Registration is open for the Charity Challenge, set for Monday, August 29, 2022 at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster. It is a 10 a.m. shotgun with a four-man scramble followed by a post-reception in the Grand Ballroom. The event will build hope and a future for at-risk children in Santiago, Chile. (Click for more)
  • Tickets are now available for the 122nd U.S. Amateur at The Ridgewood Country Club and Arcola Country Club. (Click for more)
  • Volunteer opportunities are now available for the 122nd U.S. Amateur which include walking scorers, marshals/forecaddies, standard bearers, tee services, operations and caddie services. (Click for more)
  • The LPGA Leadership Academy is headed to New Jersey on July 13-14, 2022 for girls ages 13-18. The Academy, which will take place at USGA headquarters is aimed at girls who have some experience in golf and an interest in improving confidence, communication, decision making, team and leadership skills. (Click for more)
  • Forsgate Country Club is set to welcome the ANNIKA Foundation on May 12 for an allday event. The day will feature a breakfast session to hear Sorenstam's story, a golf outing on the historic Banks Course, a golf clinic, a six-hole exhibition match and a closing reception with raffle prizes. (Click for details)
  • The MGA Foundation, in partnership with Met Area clubs, will work through GOLFWORKS, its flagship internship program, will aid Ukranian State-side refugees enrolled at American colleges and universities who do not have a home country to return to this summer. Ukranian students as well as clubs looking to participate in this program should contact foundation@mgagolf.org.
  • The LPGA Cognizant Founders Cup is headed to Upper Montclair Country Club on May 12-15. Volunteer opportunities are made available through the LPGA website. (Click for details)
  • Registration is open for the 2022-23 Drive, Chip & Putt Championships. The USGA initiative is open to any boy or girl between the ages of 7-15. (Click for details)
