The NJSGA’s “Wednesday Roundup” will run weekly through the 2021 golf season. This weekly news summary will feature local stories and news from throughout #thestateofgolf.   • Mark Costanza (Morristown) finished as runner-up in the 40th U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship at Sankaty Head Golf Club. Halfway through the final 36-hole match, Hagestad took a 5-up lead over Costanza, but the New Jersey product battled back in the second 18, trimming Hagestad’s lead to just 1-up through 31 holes.  (Click for more)
  • Chris Gotterup (Little Silver) led Oklahoma to a second place finish at the Colonial Collegiate Invite at Colonial Country Club. Individually, Gotterup finished in a tie for third. (Click for more)
  • Tom Collins and Michael O’Connell won the Brooklawn Invitational, a 36-hole event on October 2. (Click for more)
  • The USGA recently opened a new exhibition, called “An Eye for the Game: The Golf Photography of John Mummert." It opens on Thursday, October 7 at the USGA headquarters. (Click for more)
  • New Jersey is one of 12 teams competing in the National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Championship, which is set to be played from October 7-10 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Arizona. Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club will represent the Garden State in Arizona. (Click for more)
  • On October 11, the Oakley Skull Cup comes to the Ridge at Back Brook. The event supports local charities, with this year’s proceeds will support the NJ Golf Foundation. (Click for more)
  • Due to many students going back to college, many golf clubs in New Jersey are looking for help as the golf season continues. Contact your local golf club to inquire on any opportunities.
