Apply for a 2024-25 Scholarship

GENERAL INFORMATION

The New Jersey State Golf Association (NJSGA) Caddie Scholarship is available to qualified applicants who have caddied at a participating NJSGA club for at least two seasons. Full-time attendance as an undergraduate at an institution of higher education accredited by the U.S. Department of Education is required.

SELECTION CRITERIA

The NJSGA Caddie Scholarship Committee reviews applications based upon the following criteria:

  • Academic record
  • Financial need
  • Qualities of character and leadership
  • Club's financial support of the Foundation

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • August 1, 2023 – Application period opens for 2024-2025 academic year
  • October 15, 2023 – Application due date for 2024-2025 academic year
  • March 2024 – Applications under Committee Review
  • April 2024 – Award letters sent electronically
  • May 31, 2024 – Scholarship Acceptance Agreement completed and submitted via portal
  • June 15, 2024 – Thank you note sent via portal, email, or hard copy to NJSGA
  • June 26, 2024 – Scholars’ Banquet at Galloping Hill Golf Club (Invitations will be sent in May 2024)
  • Mid-August 2024 – First installment of scholarship sent to colleges and universities
  • October 15, 2024 – Application period opens for 2025-2026 academic year
  • Mid-December 2024 – Second instalment of scholarship sent to colleges and universities

NJSGA Evans Scholars Foundation Application Information
Since 2021 the NJSGA’s Caddie Scholarship Foundation has partnered with the Western Golf Association’s Evans Scholars Foundation to provide full tuition and housing scholarships to caddies from New Jersey who meet the requirements set by the Evans Scholars Foundation. Additionally, the Caddie Scholarship Foundation is working closely with the Evans Scholars Foundation to raise funds for an NJSGA/Evans Scholars House on the campus of Rutgers University so that NJSGA/Evans Scholars can live together in community.

NJSGA/Evans Scholars currently attend such prestigious universities as Indiana University, Miami University of Ohio, Ohio State University, Purdue University, Rutgers University, and University of Notre Dame. As of the 2022-2023 academic year, NJSGA/Evans Scholars will attend Rutgers University.
