Benefits of Club Membership

NJSGA Course Directory – All NJSGA member clubs and courses are part of the Course Directory listing on NJSGA.org. Basic contact information can be supplemented to include the club history and recent photos. A link to the club website is available for easy access to the club’s specific offerings.

Club Representatives – The Club Rep program creates a link between the individual clubs and courses and the NJSGA. It opens lines of communication between the NJSGA and the club so the full range of opportunities and services will be known and utilized. This two-way dialog also relays club challenges and concerns to the NJSGA, thereby creating better insight into member needs and, eventually, improved programming to meet those needs.

GHIN Handicap Service and Support – The NJSGA provides web-based software and equipment to member clubs for use of the GHIN handicap system. This enables NJSGA members the opportunity to access handicap information and post scores and allows the staff to manage the handicapping program at the club and during events.

USGA Tournament Management Club powered by Golf Genius – This web-based tournament management system is available to NJSGA member clubs and features a direct link with the GHIN handicap system for tournament setup. The basic software is available free of charge as part of NJSGA membership. A premium version is available at a nominal cost and includes live scoring, full integration with club systems, event registration and other features.

USGA Course Rating Service - The NJSGA Course Rating Committee updates Course and Slope Ratings and yardages at member clubs on a rotational or on an as-needed basis. Permanent records are kept with the Association and the USGA.

Host an Event - An opportunity to showcase the club and host NJSGA events including Championships, Member Golf Days and seminars.

Educational Seminars & Golf Community Gatherings - The NJSGA conducts educational seminars and can provide speakers on golf-related topics, including handicapping, course rating and the Rules of Golf.

Each spring the NJSGA Golf Summit brings together club officials and key staff members for a presentation of important golf industry topics. Seminar offerings also include Tournament Management, GHIN Users, Rules of Golf and Course Rating.

Golf Community networking events include the Celebration of Golf, the NJSGA Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the NJ Corporate Challenge and the NJSGA Annual Meeting.

Caddie Scholarship Foundation and Resources – The NJSGA supports young men and women by providing training and resources for them to thrive in their job as caddies. The Caddie Scholarship Foundation provides financial assistance to talented young caddies in pursuit of a college degree in their chosen field.

Marketing Opportunities in NJSGA Member Communications – Individual members receive New Jersey Golf magazine, a twice-monthly eBulletin newsletter, and have access to NJSGA.org. Use these channels to promote membership opportunities, invitationals, or unique events at your club.

Supporting the Golf Community – The NJSGA works closely with the New Jersey PGA, the Golf Course Superintendents Association of N.J., the N.J. Chapter of the Club Managers Association and the N.J. Course Owners Association to ensure that golfers in New Jersey continue to enjoy the very best opportunities in the game.
